They didn't come along until 1965, several years after the 'ripple bonnet' had gone.I suspect also that the original 2CV's glass arrangement would not be possible with modern rollover requirements. It would be nice to have the rear wheel fairings on the new car (may even eke out a bit of extra range?) but they're only practical because the original 2CV suspension has so much wheel travel that you can change a wheel by jacking a rear corner up so the wheel drops out from the fairing. I doubt the new version will have trailing arms with 18 inches of wheel travel, so the fairings would have to be easily removable at the roadside, which introduces other complexities. Plenty of cars in the 50s had removeable spats, it's an extra complication but hardly a dealbreaker. Perhaps it'll be an option or accessory like all the mods available for the Ami.
