As you say the Tories privatised it. I am unaware of Thatcher’s position on this. I would have expected she would otherwise support its privatisation, but there must have been reasons she would be against it. Perhaps safety, too complex and too expensive. She inherited BR in the state it was. She’s not a communist for doing what she saw was the best thing for the country and keeping it (I.e. the status quo).I don’t think the creation of the NHS was a communist act.
