When I was younger I used to clean cars part time around school / uni for small independent Arthur Dailey type outfits This was back in the day when every brand seemed different and seemed to be trying to make something good looking and exciting. Every car on that forecourt was different from the others and exciting. And yet they could be practical, comfortable, with 5 seats and a manual box. It was great. I am currently in the market for a new car and would love something with a bit of character. Does not have to tick every box but just something a bit interesting. I have taken to looking at

My other half, who is the antithesis of a petrolhead, drove a generic jelly mould rental car a while back and declared it to be really smooth to drive and very comfortable. I hated it. Totally bland with zero redeemable qualities. That s all the vast majority of people want: something easy and comfortable to drive. They re not interested in handling, preferring the opportunity to connect their phone to the entertainment system. Modern cars sell for a reason. And I ve just got home from the pub after a few pints - so bear with.Modern cars instil absolutely no enthusiasm whatsoever. That s why you see all these Mr 40 types tooling along on an NSL road. 40 everywhere. They are not enjoying the experience whatsoever, it s just a means from getting from A to B. See the Epidemic of Insanely Slow Drivers thread.I think I m right in thinking that this forum was originally set up by TVR enthusiasts. And still own / drive them. They surely must wince. Not me, I used to love TVRs, had a V6 and a V8, a couple of Alfas including the famous V6 but my Tesla is by far the best car I've ever had, the instant acceleration is addictive.A good mate of mine currently living in Norway (where EV ownership is de rigueur.Recently visited his place in France where his EV went pop (high voltage battery). He’s in a bit of a dispute with the manufacturer so they have loaned him this. Ok it does 0-60 in 4.7 seconds. However I don’t think I’d feel comfortable to be seen driving it.

In a multi story that I was using earlier this evening, the MOT ran out in May 24. I do find the car park ones odd, I've seen other seemingly abandoned cars in other car parks, I'd love to know the reasons.

A somewhat unbalanced duo which is acknowledged from the start in this head to head. I would never put these two on the same page and i found myself unpicking the Porsche rather than comparing it to the Morgan. Despite the indifferences the 911 wins out.

I got the make and basic model in three - not Cardle's answer though. Ironically I intended to type in Challenger but ended up typing Charger for some reason - so I got it right by default!

If its styling fuses a little 6GT with a little 720S, I can't see it going far wrong.Building an SUV is a sad but perhaps necessary evil. Performance manufacturers should really look at a different set of priorities to luxury marques. A McLaren, Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, or even Bentley SUV should be something that could conceivably win a race. Make the body low and wide, and if it has to be jacked up, make it jacked up for sand dunes and mud pits, not Kensington kerbs and speedbumps. Most importantly, make it weigh less! Else there's no S about it, it's just a big fat squishy UV.
