Keo, I definitely questioned my decision when the rain came. It s all part of the adventure I guess! Itscaptainslow - I think you made the right call! I do try to make a conscious effort not to drive in the rain. Such a shame after the week of heat we had prior to LiTP.Composite Guru, I think Ive read your previous ownership thread on here while researching. I’ll be moving the car to live in the garage later this year (I just need to remove a stud wall and have a clear out) and into a carcoon for the winter months. Like you did, I intend to drop the aero kit to have a good clean around it. I was going to enquire about some PPF at a good retailer in Staffordshire to help protect it, in particular where it meets the body on the rear quarter. If you have a link for the fastenings you used that would be greatly appreciated.Matty_, thanks. Gav @Unit 4 was already on my short list and not too far away. Another was PJS Sports Cars in the same area & confusingly also based out of a Unit 4!One thing I forgot to mention in my last update was that a few weeks back I popped out to top the fuel up and while taking the fuel cap out, the lock barrel came loose. I thought at the time I had secured it back in place and intended to have a bit more of an inspection once at home again. While travelling back after a spirited start onto the A5 I heard something come away and knew immediately; seeing it the side mirror that the cap was no longer in place. Not to worry I thought, let s purchase a new set of lock and cap, only to find the kit is out of stock everywhere and on back order with Lotus. At this point I employed the wife to come help me to see if we could recover the cap from where it came off, as I d learned by this point that a replacement was going to be about £300!After a good search of the area, all I could locate was:A fairly mangled lock barrel, missing all the blades and quite deformed. I can only assume everything had been run over and destroyed. Bugger.I managed to get

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
