These aims can contradict because the world is nuanced.Better for as many people as possible, whilst tryi

Always a space on the road, but often not directly outside the house. Front "garden" too small an area to remove the wall, put in a dropped kerb & utilise as OSP. In short, I have no viable way to charge an EV at home short of running a cable across the pavement at best or likely across the pavement + 5-10m in either direction. My commute is 60 miles round trip x 4 days = 240miles week.A lot of references to EV charging seem to relate to minutes taken to get from 20% to 80%.Theoretical total EV range of 300miles; charging from 20% to 80% would give me 180miles from 80% until it got back down to 20% - i.e. I would have to charge after every 3 commutes to not go below 20% / 60 miles remaining.180 miles in unleaded would be c. £33 using the figures above = 18p/mile.Congratulations if you've read this far...Could anyone give me an idea on how much it would cost to charge an EV from 20%-80% at a public facility? Know that different rates = different costs but any thoughts would be appreciated. Not adverse to the idea of an EV for commuting but for the miles I do & without the ability to charge at home, thoughts are that savings over ICE would be minimal even before factoring in the costs of trading in my current car & buying an EV plus the embuggerance of waiting 20mins or so per charge vs. 2mins to fill up with petrol. My car has an 80odd kWh battery, so 20 to 80% is 48kWh.
