Similarly a Merc C Class coupe of some description, C300 got left, easily.Its not about "winning", its a bit of fun, reminds me of a quote from the film McVicar,"Alright, I know I'm gonna lose 'ere, but I'll be the best second you've ever seen!"Agree with this sentiment - i have 500bhp but the car is 2.2 tons and i don't mind losing to something you shouldn't have been able to get in front of in the first place. High powered ICE cars will always catch up and pass eventually, but it's fun when you leave them for dead off the line. Nearly aways get a thumbs up and a laugh from the other driver as they pass.For clarity - i'm not calling my car a sleeper, it has bright gold Brembos and matching seatbelts

With the untimely death of my daily Ford Focus Estate Titanium X recently it was time to find a new daily. The Focus was struck by a DHL lorry who straight-lined a two lane roundabout with me on the inside lane. Minor damage sustained but with the car on 127,000 miles the repair cost outweighed the value. For those who have followed my previous MX-5 thread, you may remember that I was considering purchasing a new car for some time. The arrival of my son hadn't forced my hand per-se (we have another family car), but with the MX-5 being a two-seater, it's become such a lonely car. A somewhat unbalanced duo which is acknowledged from the start in this head to head. I would never put these two on the same page and i found myself unpicking the Porsche rather than comparing it to the Morgan. Despite the indifferences the 911 wins out.

If its styling fuses a little 6GT with a little 720S, I can't see it going far wrong.Building an SUV is a sad but perhaps necessary evil. Performance manufacturers should really look at a different set of priorities to luxury marques. A McLaren, Ferrari, Lambo, Porsche, or even Bentley SUV should be something that could conceivably win a race. Make the body low and wide, and if it has to be jacked up, make it jacked up for sand dunes and mud pits, not Kensington kerbs and speedbumps. Most importantly, make it weigh less! Else there's no S about it, it's just a big fat squishy UV.
