157mph on the autobahn? Outstanding for an old bird. Realistically, how much performance do you need? It makes you wonder why people chase newer faster cars.

It's good to know that a little piece of Mercedes-AMG history is appreciated.

Optioned up these can get very close to a lightly used Vanquish or 296 or Amalfi if for that matter,while at the other end of the spectrum you can get a very similar design in the form of a DB11 starting at £60k and that has a V12. They seem a tough sell to me

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
