I’ve just read that you won the trophy for the reader’s cars shed and I’m so pleased for you, it is absolutely deserved. Unfortunately, I couldn’t make it but my CL did, hopefully you had a chance to admire the MB Poole plates which you confirmed for me were the original period plates.

Chapter 18 : Summer & Shows 2025Summertime! Well, British Summertime anyway...The first time in my 9 years ownership... actually using this thing as a car. Not the most practical (entirely my fault). I really have ruined what precious boot space the car originally had. This makes camping (above) awkward. On the plus side though; interior and boot is dry. Engine strong as an Ox. Gearbox sweet. Concerning the gearbox, it really is a mixed bag. The ratios are very wide apart and doesn't really support a sporty persona. The flipside of that means fifth is really long. 70 mph is so relaxed engine wise. On a private road this thing will sit at 100 quite happily. When you run old junk like me, that really is a novelty. You can see why other Turbo cars pioneered the six speed box. (Calibra first I think....?)Volvo Owners Club BKV 2025First event was the Volvo Owners Club Best Kept Volvo..... or VOC-BKV for short.Some great cars on show...Soft spot for the 850...My personal favourite car of the show was this 850 T5-R in 607 Cream Yellow...Absolutely iconic. Finally I went head-to-head with G991GWH...This car has been vacuuming up trophies for over a decade. Rightly so because it's immaculate...It was a tough call and we had all four judges scratching their heads at one point. Extremely proud to be victorious even though the 400 turnout was embarrassingly low. Hey, you gotta be in it to win it!Special mention to chris1roll who drove up from the West Country I believe. Fair play. Great to meet you and the lovely 700. PH representing...Completely un-related but a visitor rocked up in a D-reg Thema which in itself is a miracle......even more so with this badge...What a spot!Anyways, just a simple piece of glass means so much...There's a lot of soul searching and late garage evenings associated with that... Heveningham Hall ConcoursI was volunteering at Heveningham this year. The 480 got a VIP car parking ticket which is the most random selection of gathered cars you'll ever s
