Mine had the Recaros but only having had similar hot hatches before I didn't notice the high seating position particularly. Now I've been spoilt with cars with very
Time for Anglesey. The car needed a thorough clean before its journey up to North Wales.I usually take quite a bit with me to track days, as much as I can carry. The thought of a day being spoiled by not having a simple tool is something that makes me take things which I wouldn't necessarily need. The rear diffuser was a gift for the friend I was going with.I'm very surprised with the boot capacity; everything, including my helmet and overnight bad (not pictured) fit into the boot.I've also been told that 4x wheels with tyres will fit into the boot. Good to know for next time. The car as fueled and ready to go.Some of the views were spectactular through mid-wales. I didn't stop to take hardly any photos, partly because I wanted to get going, and partly because I was enjoying the drive too much.I stopped overnight at a friend's place who was attending the track day with me in his MX-5 (Dan, the same friend who came with me to Donnington). Their home is a beautiful converted barn in the country side, so we spent the night with some guitars and drinks before heading to bed early. The bed for the night? Their tourer caravan - I couldn't have been happier. The last time I stayed in a caravan was probably about 25 years ago, staying at Tenby for a holiday as a kid. I'm almost certain it's the same one, too, which made the night even better.A few track guide videos on my laptop and it was time to head to bed.The next morning, after a ridiculously good night's sleep, we woke bright and early to start the drive to Anglesey. This is where the photos start to thin as we enjoyed ourselves too much to take photos.Pit garages were first-come first-serve, but most people are kind enough to let you store your kit in the corner of their garage. What followed was a full day and 200 miles of outrageous fun on the Anglesey GP circuit. The weather was fantastic, and the car performed very well. Some thoughts about the car on circuit, especially compared to the MX-5. It's a very different expe

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
