클러치의 기본 구조는 세 가지 주요 부품으로 이루어져 있습니다: 플라이휠, 프릭션 디스크, 압력판. 플라이휠은 엔진 후면에 부착되고, 압력판은 플라이휠에 부착됩니다. 그 사이에 프릭션 디스크가 끼어 있습니다. 마찰력으로 양쪽의 플라이휠/압력판을 집어줍니다. 트랜스미션의 스플라인 입력축이 프릭션 디스크를 통과하며 플라이휠 중심의 파일럿 베어링 위에 있습니다. 클러치 페달을 밟으면 릴리스 베어링이 클러치 핑거에 밀려 압력판을 플라이휠에서 당깁니다. 압력판이 당겨지면 두 부품 사이에 충분한 공간이 생기고, 프릭션 디스크가 자유롭게 회전할 수 있게 됩니다. 이로 인해 엔진의 동력이 트랜스미션으로 전달되지 않습니다.

My beloved Caterham supersport departed this morning, after 18 months a few trackdays and two Alps trips. It was amazing and I will probably miss it slightly for the roads on my doorstep but....
