증상

전륜구동 자동차가 급가속할 때 왼쪽이나 오른쪽으로 쏠리는 현상. 저출력 자동차에서는 무시할 수 있는 수준이지만, 고출력 엔진을 장착한 차량에서는 매우 심할 수 있음.

처리 내용

토크스티어는 횡방향 엔진을 장착한 전륜구동 자동차에서 한쪽 드라이브샤프트가 더 짧고 다른 각도로 장착되어 발생함. 해결 방법은 양쪽 드라이브샤프트를 동일하게 교체하는 것. 고성능 엔진일수록 토크스티어 현상이 더 심하게 나타남.
