Slippydiff said: I worked with him when he had the shop on Warwick road in Tyseley. He'd just bought Bodymoor Green Farm, Stuart Nichols was my replacement.Stuart was much more Peter's cup of tea - Corporate, probably did what he was told, professional and lacking my rebellious streak ...I got to know Peter through my ownership of my Manta 1.9 SR, when I bought a complete exhaust, springs, cam etc etc off him.We got on famously, so much so he offered me a job. It all went downhill from thereon ...It culminated in me arriving at work on a Monday morning to find Peter in one of his "moods" (looking back now, I realise he was definitely on the spectrum) the "moods" normally meant a lack of conversation, and this Monday morning mood was no different. At about midday, he came off the phone to a customer and immediately asked where I'd been on Saturday morning. Somewhat taken aback, I replied I'd been around at a mates helping him remove the engine from his car, to which he replied, I'd agreed to go into work at PMC (I hadn't) I said I'd agreed no such thing, and that if I had agreed to that, I'd have been at PMC. He responded that he didn't think that this was going to work, and that I should leave (I think the whole lack of attendance on Saturday morning "thing" was just a planned ruse/excuse to sack me) to which I responded "I think you're right Peter", picked up my few things and walked out of the door, never to speak him ever again !!Sorry for the derailment of your excellent OP, it brings back a lot of very fond memories. Fitted the later black plastic bumpers, and front spoiler kit, flatted, etch primed and painted all the remaining chrome trims in satin black, removed the vi

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
