I queried a dealer sale price on a car I could have bought for 17k privately with tiny mileage on it and offered £1k above what they paid but they just wouldn't budge because they have to pay someone a finders fee, collection cost, PDI costs and a commission fee for the salesman. The trouble is that this pushes car values up and when you put the details into a comparison site, for insurance purposes, they tell you the market value is 4k less so you're on a hiding to nothing unless you take out GAP insurance.So you may get better quality used cars these days but you sure as hell pay for it.Edited by LuS1fer on Tuesday 29th September 14:28
