엔진을 retard(지연)한다는 것이 무엇을 의미하는가?

엔진의 Advanced(진각) 또는 Retard(지각) 조정은 스파크가 발생하는 시간을 약간 앞당기거나(진각) 또는 늦게(지각) 조정하는 것을 의미합니다. 일반적으로 점화 타이밍은 상사점(TDC)보다 약간 전에 스파크가 발생하도록 설정됩니다. 공기-연료 혼합기가 연소하고 팽창하는 데 시간이 걸리기 때문에, 혼합기가 TDC 직후에 완전히 연소되는 것이 이상적입니다. 스파크가 너무 일찍 발생하면 피스톤이 내려가기 시작하기 전에 팽창이 일어나 노킹이 발생하고 엔진 손상 가능성이 있습니다. 스파크가 너무 늦게 발생하면 피스톤이 이미 상당히 내려가 있어 출력 손실, 연비 악화, 과열 가능성이 발생합니다. 필요한 정확한 타이밍은 엔진 속도, 부하, 연료 옥탄가, 온도 등 여러 요소에 따라 달라집니다. 예를 들어, 엔진 속도가 빨라질수록 연료가 여전히 연소할 시간을 확보하기 위해 타이밍을 더 진각 조정해야 하며, 사이클은 짧아지지만

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
