Pizzaeatingking said: First job has ended up being finding reasonable insurance. Prices are currently close to the M3! I'm not sure if E9x M3's are weirdly cheap or these are weirdly expensive but that fits with my experience- my E92 costs basically the same to insure as my 125i did. Was a pleasant surprise for me and helped offset the tax but would've caught me out if I was going the other way!

It all yours again now !!That is exactly what I was put it across to my mate as, a budget E46 M3 CSL. The issue is, after spending a significant amount on my M3 in the 18 months I've owned it everything will seem like a bargain to me now. No bother on derailing, it's helpful for me to get owners and previous owners thoughts, I do try and do jobs once rather than have to try 3 different setups before finding the ideal. It's all good intel! Agree on the seat, feels way too high for me. It'll have buckets eventually anyway. I expect next year and the year after the cost will drop a chunk.Court_S said: That s a great choice OP.I m a massive fan of the E8x cars although I ve only had an E81 130i and an E88 125. I think they re a great size too.A remap made a massive difference for on the 125i as did fitting the 130i brake carriers for bigger front discs. The N52 is a sweet engine having owned five to date.My 130i had Birds B1 suspension which was fab. A friend had an E82 125i and he found it ran best on B4 dampers and H+R springs he later swapped to B12 s on Eibachs and it was too firm at low speed. It was night and day between his 125i and my 130i (mines was on 18 s vs. his 17 s as well).

Writing the title made me wonder how many rear engined coupes have existed. I got 911 (obviously), some Alpines, Delorean, Fiat / Abarth versions of the 850. There must be more. But this is none of those. Its Japanese, made in the '80s and sold here in reasonable numbers. But they are now firmly in the category of 'rare but nobody gives a st'. And only a handful remain. It's a car I've had a yearning to own and got outbid on one at auction many years ago. More recently I contacted a seller on FB, we agreed a price and then he blocked me...So I broke the first rule of car buying and bought one s

I'm debating what I do with a speedo conversion. Plus point with the Lockwood is you get mph and kph whereas converting it on the CAN leaves you with mph only. Or I could just leave it in Km. I'm fairly used to doing it in my head that way around. Of course, there was an incident in the Forester where I forgot it was converted and I took it up to an indicated 100 thinking 'this feels strangely fast'
