Crooks.Hired a car at Stansted a few years back.When left back they claimed I'd damaged an alloy. I'd only driven 50 moles and knew I'd not done any damage. Did a chargeback on the credit card and they gave up.Colleague had a car from them whilst his company car was in for warranty work.When he left it back they tried the same exact scam.He said he'd caused no damage but they wre adamant that he'd caused damage.They claimed multiple staff had checked before the rental and that he'd caused the issue. They had stringent processes in place and he had definitely caused the damage. There was n

Over about 30 years, I can only think of three occasions where I had a 'bad' experience with Enterprise. But maybe that's because I was an Enterprise Club member taking 20-40 hires a year (mostly on expenses).The first was when I was returning home from working abroad, and was given a Saab 9000 for the weekend. Had a quick look around and saw it had a flat tyre, so went back to the kiosk and reported it. They came to the car and pumped it up, and it still seemed inflated enough when I returned it 4 days later.The second, was after I'd hired a 320D Touring as a last minute replacement for my own car that was showing an EML light on the week before I was going on an NC500 tour (had no time to organise repairs as I also needed the car for commuting to London and to visit a friend in Cornwall the coming week). Was on day 2 of the trip and just about to leave the hotel in Tongue, when Enterprise called to say the car was needed back as it had reached it's lease mileage limit. Told them that I was about to go out driving for the day, but they could swap vehicles at my next hotel stop in Gairloch. Waited all day/night for confirmation, but nothing came, but phone signal was a bit patchy all weekend anyway. Eventually got through to them the following day when we went to Skye (to break up and lengthen the trip) and they told me to forget about it, and just bring it back when I was finished. They probably were not particularly happy with the extra 2000 miles I'd put on it though!The third, which I don't really think I can call that an Enterprise issue, was given a hire car replacement for a breakdown in Germany. Got an Avis Golf for the remainder of my trip around Europe, and had to drop it off at Calais ferry terminal to travel as a foot passenger to Dover where I was to collect another hire car from Enterprise to get me home to Liverpool. Got to Dover, exited the passenger terminal and called Enterprise to tell them I where I was. Then got told that the breakdown company h
