Last week, my Cayman was showing a CEL waring when idling. Once actually driving, the CEL would switch off but then come back at the next idle.Reading the generic codes (P0300, P0301, P0302, P0303) indicted misfires on cylinders 1,2 and 3. A common cause of misfire seems to be coil packs or spark plugs but these were all replaced by the previous owner within the last couple of years. Also, it seemed a coincidence that all the misfires were on bank 1.I then managed to read the Porsche specific codes: P1371, P1359, P1361, P1363. These pointed me to the Valve Lift Timing Solenoid Actuator (99710530100) on bank 1. I’m still learning about this car but it seems that each bank of the engine has two actuators controlling both valve timing and valve lift. On my photo, the lift actuator is between the coil packs for cylinders 2 and 3 and the other actuator is on the other side of 3. One new lift actuator from Porsche and the problem was solved. Phew. Maybe the old one was sticking at the valve lift suitable for power but not idle.Annoyingly, although my code reader has managed to read Porsche specific codes, it doesn’t have the functionality to reset the oil service light. ☹

엔진 미스파이어가 계속 발생. 배터리가 방전되고 알터네이터 불량으로 전기 시스템 고장. 알터네이터와 배터리 교체 후에도 P0303 진단 코드 발생. 플러그와 점화 케이블 교체 후 코드 사라졌으나 100마일 주행 후 P0303 코드 재발생. #3 실린더 플러그와 케이블 재설치 후 코드 사라졌으나 며칠 후 미스파이어 재발생. 그 후 P0420 코드 발생.

ECM(엔진 컨트롤 모듈, 엔진 컴퓨터) 불량으로 보임. 해당 차량에서 흔한 문제. 나쁜 ECM은 일관성 없는 에러 코드를 발생시킴. 다른 ECM으로 테스트를 받은 후 다른 부품을 교체하기 전에 정비소에서 진단받을 것.

연비 저하 + 가속 떨림

점화플러그 4개 + 3번 코일 교체. 엔진오일 동시 교환.
