That reduces the number of people who don't have the ability to charge at home buying EV's. Whether or not that's a good or a bad thing depends on the relevant national strategies and targets.Good point on the the tax too, the Dutch have a purchase tax that's based on CO2 emissions plus a diesel surcharge, which also encourages p

The second largest neighbour dispute after noise is parking disputes. In urban area the competition for park spaces is heavy contested, so adding charging point to the mix is not a good thing. Further Glasgow City Council does not allow charging cables or pavement cable gullies (grooves) to be laid across public pavements as they are take the safety issues seriously. I believed about 50% of councils take this position the UK. The council position regarding changers it that is has has or is in the process of selling them to private operators. It's not a core activity for them. I live in an urban with lots of terraced housing (including mine) and apartments and think this is workable...because it's already happening and works. We have multiple twin charger posts within a short walk of my house, each with a couple of on street parking spaces marked for EV charging. The people who use those chargers mostly park on the same streets at night anyway, and it's fairly busy so rarely park in the same spot 2 days running, so parking in a charging spot every few days to top up instead of any other random space is no hassle at all. It sounds like maybe the problem is Glaswegians not car chargers I see your are from the Netherlands and I guess not familiar with a glaswegian kiss. What we have in west end of Glasgow is something like this. What you see is that there is no street furniture or cables and really wide roads. Great for accessibility. The density of parking is like this most of the time even during the working days, or in some cases particularly during the working day. So in terms of parking spots verses home we are talking around 3 homes to 1 parking spot. So if you introduce EVs charging point that quickly 4/5 home per normal parking spot. Just makes sense to pop to a fast charger rather than mess up the conser

This car and van insurance is getting more and more of a piss take every year, not only are they taking the piss by upping the amount drastically at every renewal now they are starting to renew it weeks before its even due.Had an email on the 26th October saying our van insurance is due for renewal on the 14th November (which I knew about anyway) and it was nearly £300 more expensive than last year. I thought right I'll get some quotes at the weekend. Got another email at 6AM this morning (29th Oct) saying thanks for renewing, and got the welcome to the finance agreement as well. They have obv
