Me and a friend were talking about this a few evenings ago. My first car (back in 1991) was a MK2 Escort, this had 13 inch diameter wheels. My current car's (Ford Focus) brake discs are 363mm (so over 14 inches)! Edited by zetec on Sunday 26th July 12:32

I was talking about the typical SUV which could be a RAV4 or a CHR or a Kia Sportage etc with an average (non SUV) BEV, which could be an Ioniq5 or an Ioniq 6 or a Tesla Y etc.To take two that are of a similar footprint and physical size:(data from quick search)Model Y - 2,088 kgRAV4 - 1,630 kgModel Y - 255/35R21 - could be as small as 19RAV4 - 235/55R19Heavier and bigger wheels and tyres, but I do not say that EVs are bad, only that they are conveniently ignored when people bang on about SUVs being too heavy and ruin the roads.
