I can't think of any reason why I'd want to share my life with someone who thinks pumping their own petrol, topping up their own oil or checking their own tyres (or, even, paying for the running costs of their own car) as either beyond them or beneath them. Because that's what it must boil down to, surely? Either they're so dense that they can't work out how to use a petrol pump or tell if a tyre is round or not...or they're such pampered princesses that they think lifting a fuel nozzle or pulling a bonnet catch is too much like manual labour and beneath them. They're just not functional adults. I have never enmeshed myself with any partner who remotely thought or acted like that.
