The U.S. has significant hurdles to switching to EV due to the gaps and the lack of electricity infrastructure between them. But also, they are self sufficient with oil and oil is priced in dollars so they don't have the economic need that Europe has to escape what is a hideous trap and burden for Europe but a boon for the U.S. The problem is that there is a cohort of British dimwits that believe they're either American, desire to be American or want to desperately copy everything American. There always has been. And these people get fed what to believe by US centric algos and cannot fathom that the country they actually live in is different to America.
