OE marked tyres are nothing new, and people replacing them with generics is commonplace. Though looking on Camskill, the OE marked tyres for my car are cheaper than the closest generic version they've got.Lots of OE marked tyresGeneric versionOE versions

What will the supply be likeQuite often on the reviews here you see 'fitted with specifically developed tyres for the car'. Really?I cannot imagine that you can get them (e.g. when you need them after a puncture) later on after the original as delivered set has worn out.And do the make that much of a difference? And surely the difference is only noticed in track conditions when really pushing on. And usually they are a normal size. "Oh these Pilot Sport 4S are terrible, but these Pilot Sport 4S's with bespoke compound transform the car"....Need an 'ask a tyre tester' section. From someone I know who does car dynamics for a living, on an A110 the Michelin PS4 feels very different to the PS4 DT1 spec Alpine specific tyre.5,000 hours is a lot, but I assume they mean overall staff effort put in, rather than 5,000 hours on the road. If 10 people from Michelin and Polestar were working together that's about 12 weeks of full time work, which seems about right to develop a tyre (I've never developed a tyre in my life, but it sounds right).Exactly. Always amazed so many people on Pistonheads who are fairly well informed don't understand that all cars have some degree of tyre development to tune ride comfort and handling balance. Hence why OE marked tyres exist!

This car was sold all over the world in different specifications that's the only difference. People seem to think JDM is for any car from Japan which it isn't.You're entirely incorrect here. JDM can be applied to any car car destined for the Japanese domestic market.Yes, people incorrectly say 'JDM' when it's a Civic originally sold in Peterborough, but this is a Japanese only model originally sold domestically in Japan.

I appreciate that this isn t a very Pistonheads kind of vehicle but I thought it might be of a little bit of interest to some. Despite the love I had for my Fiat Panda 4x4 Cross winter car, I ve always really hankered after one of the latest Suzuki Jimny s but never actually did it whilst they were officially available in the UK. However, I recently got the chance to pick up a brand new import and decided to go for it.The car is exactly as it left the factory but I did get the dealer to upgrade the tyres for me as I d read some pretty poor (snow) reviews about the Dunlop Grand Trek tyres that

My A tech who is 55 years old had a cough one day and medically retired the next. He has a particularly nasty cancer. I'm just lost what to do. He's not only a good employee but a good friend. Been with me 8 years. I have always been lucky with finding techs...
