증상
연석에 충돌(시속 약 35mph) 후 타이어 옆면에 1/4~1/2인치 깊이, 약 2인치 폭의 손상 발생. 공기 누출 없는 것처럼 보임. 차량은 6,800마일 주행, AWD 차량, 이전에 후좌측 타이어 펑크로 교체 경험 있음.
처리 내용
해당 타이어는 교체 필요. 옆면 손상 부위의 표면 러버가 완전히 제거되어 있으며 단열재도 벗겨져 구조용 컴포넌트가 노출됨. 이 부위의 손상으로 인해 전체 실패 위험이 증가하고 공기 누출 가능성 있음. 휠은 스크래치만 있으므로 정상 사용 가능 - 교체 불필요. AWD 차량에서 타이어 1개만 교체 가능: 현재 주행거리(6,800마일)가 적어 다른 타이어 외경 변화가 최소화되어 있음. AWD 시스템의 주요 우려사항은 타이어 외경 차이로 인한 구동축 응력이므로, 나머지 타이어의 마모 상태를 확인하여 외경 차이가 미미하면 1개 교체만으로 충분할 수 있음.
