The other argument is that areas of high car ownership in dense urban areas should be a high priority for enabling EV take-up, because of the local air quality issues. Currently, there is no reason to change to electric or PHEV if all you can get is expensive public DC charging. If people in those areas are insufficiently civilised to play nicely with kerbside chargers, the alternative of removing the parking and getting them all onto public transport has some merit. You have to charge for time parked not electricity used. That way you deliver a financial penalty for just leaving the car there or doing a full charge. You'll then have the folks who work late so never find a free charger along with those who deem themselves far more important than others. Street chargers for U.K. low income residents will be an utter clustrefk and always loss making unless the hourly parking rate is high enough, at which point the residents will miraculously work out that they can charge elsewhere very easily. Dear God how many times. Those who fail to find an on street charger will just park and go to a fast charging station next time they use their car.Street chargers exist all over the UK already, yes even where "low income" people (God knows why that makes them more prone to being upset about parking places, it's usually middle class nosey parkers who are the most entitled and outraged by things like this) and nothing bad is happening. Nothing. Why are you so determined to stand against them? It's baffling. Your arguments have been refuted several times over, so please, please come up with something new if you truly believe street chargers summon Cthulu and The Stay Puft Marshmallow Man. Or maybe admit you'r

This car and van insurance is getting more and more of a piss take every year, not only are they taking the piss by upping the amount drastically at every renewal now they are starting to renew it weeks before its even due.Had an email on the 26th October saying our van insurance is due for renewal on the 14th November (which I knew about anyway) and it was nearly £300 more expensive than last year. I thought right I'll get some quotes at the weekend. Got another email at 6AM this morning (29th Oct) saying thanks for renewing, and got the welcome to the finance agreement as well. They have obv
