Well this project came about entirely by chance, a fleeting mention of an early S2 escort for sale on a whatsapp group, a need for a winter project and a deal was done! The car came from Mr Gallonspermile of this very parish who was its custodian for around 16 years. It was taken off the road a good 12 years or so ago where the shell was sorted, painted and undersealed and then has sat ever since.After we agreed a deal the next hurdle was getting it home to me, the car was in Dover and I'm near glasgow, a nice even 1000 mile round trip. I considered using shiply but I really wanted to get a go

This looks like a great project!A mate of mine in the salvage business had a Cat B (IIRC) red one back in the 90s that another mate bought from him for track days. Sadly it only did one at Goodwood because his brother managed to break it. My same salvage mate had a stolen recovered S1 for a few weeks in the late 80s, until it got stolen off his Mum's drive while he was in the pub one Saturday night. It wasn't recovered again!I have some great memories of those days although I preferred my 2.8i Capris.
