Nice article I use my GR Yaris on track and the main thing I would add to this is the impact of different tracks on tyre life and how different tyre types last on trackI started doing track days on good road tyres (PS4S or Conti SC7) and at Donnington and Brands (the first two tracks I went to) they were fine with modest wear and decent pace ( previously I raced karts for 30 years to a moderate standard so I can peddle reasonably well) I then went to Anglesey and discovered it has the (I believe) the most abrasive tarmac in the country and I destroyed an SC7 (through to the canvas) on the front left by about 11:30. Fortunately I had a spare set of wheels with me just in case for the journey home and I finished the day driving rather more gently. (As an aside, I loved Anglesey and really commited to it, as well as destroying both front tyres I also finished off my front discs that day-quite an expensive day out but I had a ball )I then invested in a set of Cup 2 mainly because they last on track compared to a more road orientated tyre and I planned 4 more track days that summer. I did a 3.5 dry days on them (the other 1/2 was on SC7's on a wet/dry day) This year I only planned 2 track days so I didn't invest in Cup 2 and did Cadwell Park and Donnington on SC7's with only modest wear (inculding one stint of 25 minutes after the pressures were properly set) The key point being that more track orientated tyres last a lot better on track, especially at tracks with abrasive tarmac. I appreciate that this isn t a very Pistonheads kind of vehicle but I thought it might be of a little bit of interest to some. Despite the love I had for my Fiat Panda 4x4 Cross winter car, I ve always really hankered after one of the latest Suzuki Jimny s but never actually did it whilst they were officially available in the UK. However, I recently got the chance to pick up a brand new import and decided to go for it.The car is exactly as it left the factory but I did get the dealer to upgrade the tyres for me as I d read some pretty poor (snow) reviews about the Dunlop Grand Trek tyres that

My A tech who is 55 years old had a cough one day and medically retired the next. He has a particularly nasty cancer. I'm just lost what to do. He's not only a good employee but a good friend. Been with me 8 years. I have always been lucky with finding techs...

housemouse said: Somewhat tangential, but christ that main infotainement screen is awful. How did we get to the point that something like that is put into production by a major brand like VW?I realise it's not entirely exceptional. But history won't be kind to this era of taken-on tablets. They'll look incredibly dated and tacky once the fashion passes. It's not fashion, it's just cheap and lazy cost cutting on the part of VW (and most other brands). I can't believe anyone wants that crap in their car. I'm going to be in trouble when I need to replace the family bus unless I can find something
