증상
2002 Audi S8에서 오일 레벨 경고등 점등. 약 2500마일 주행 후 디프스틱으로 확인했을 때 허용 범위 이하로 저하. 엔진은 정상 작동 온도에 도달한 상태. 2쿼트 추가 후 현재 중간 수준.
처리 내용
S8은 일반적으로 오일 소비량이 많지 않으므로 두 가지 원인이 가능함: 1) 누유 (엔진 곳곳에서 발생 가능, 외관상 뚜렷함), 2) PCV 막힘 또는 오일 흡입 (특히 고회전 주행 시 가능성 높음). 당장 로드트립 중에는 긴급 상황이 아니지만 주의 깊게 모니터링 필요. 연료 충전 시마다 오일 레벨 확인, 매일 아침 출발 전 확인 권장. S8 오일 용량은 8.5쿼트이므로 현재 수준은 엔진에 손상을 주지 않음. 계속 오일 소비량을 주시하고 정기적으로 체크할 것.

2014년식 Cherokee가 2023년경 정비소 방문 이후 지속적인 과열 문제 발생. 이전에는 정상 작동(210°F 이하)했으나 현재 워밍업 후 항상 210°F 이상 유지되며, 긴 언덕이나 부하 상황에서 235°F까지 급상승하여 'check gauges' 경고 표시. 시동을 끄고 후드를 열어서 다시 시동하면 세 개의 전기 팬(electric fan)이 빠르게 냉각시켜 210°F까지 급강하. 이 현상이 반복적으로 확인되고 열총(heat gun)으로도 검증됨.

I had a Dame Edna with this engine, picked it up for buttons and put about 40,000 on it and it only needed a tyre, an idler pulley, an ABS ring and a coolant return pipe. Absolutely fantastic cars - great power, good economy and I could do everything myself on the drive. Will always have a soft spot for them. Already had the uprated swirl flap bar too. Enjoy!

운전 중 갑자기 자동차가 무거워지면서 힘이 없어짐. 가스 스테이션에서 시동을 끔. 다시 시동을 걸려고 하니 크랭크는 되지만 바로 꺼짐. 2일 방치 후 돌아갔을 때 시동이 아예 안 걸리고 모터만 맴 (크랭킹음만 남). 계기판에 빨간색 냉각수 경고등이 나타남. 온도 게이지가 완전히 내려감.
