증상
1996 Taurus 왜건의 조향 문제. 정차 상태에서 스티어링 휠 조작이 매우 어려움 (파워 스티어링 완전 고장보다도 심함). 5mph 전후의 저속 전진/후진 시에는 스티어링이 완벽하게 작동. 정차 상태에서 엔진 RPM 상승시켜도 개선 안 됨. 앞 바퀴 들어올려서 타이어 제거 후 확인 중.
처리 내용
파워 스티어링 고장으로 추정. 대응 방법: 1) 주행 중 일정 속도에서 기어를 변속해서 저RPM에서 스티어링의 어려움 정도 확인 - 파워 스티어링과 볼 조인트/그리스 필요 부위 고장 구분에 도움. 2) 정차 상태에서 스티어링 휠을 돌릴 때 엔진 RPM 강하 현상 관찰 - RPM 강하가 없으면 파워 스티어링 완전 고장 가능성. 3) 앞부분 전체를 들어올린 후 손가락 힘만으로 바퀴를 돌릴 수 있는지 확인 - 쉽게 회전하면 기계적 부위 양호. 파워 스티어링 벨트 끊김, 펌프 고장, 호스/라인 손상 점검 필요.

The front tyres on my car (Pirelli Cinturato P6) have the following DOT code (emphasis mine) DOT 93 E0 M061 What does "M061" mean? It doesn't seem to tell me the date of manufacture as should be expected from the last 4 digits for tyres made after 2000. How do I tell when they were made? I don't remember when these tyres were fitted, but the (front wheel drive) car was manufactured in 2012 and I've had the car since 2013.
