증상

Sofa said: argued the toss with JLR and managed to get them to pay 80% of the bill. They were possibly in a bit of a better position to get some goodwill though, as they d owned it from new and a month into ownership it broke down. Am I reading this correctly? Within a month of buying a brand new vehicle and it failing, they had to pay 20% of the repair bill?

Personally, I would be instructing an independent expert to get down to the garage and do a full report on what has gone wrong. Then i'd use that as a big stick to get JLR to do something about it. Good luck with that. JLR have no legal responsibility here and they'll be extremely used to fending off such cases.I agree it will be hard to get JLR to admit liability. Much better to try for goodwill contribution. If car companies allowed claims outside of their warranty period then it negates the whole purpose of buying extended warranties. As an aside, how much would a reconditioned/ salvaged engine cost ? It’s a pretty common engine so would have thought this would be an option.
