Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCi Oil Leak
In the second picture, at the bottom on the right, you can see the hex shaped top of the housing (where it says "25 Nm"). Check at the base of that, which appears to be a filter housing. Also, at the bottom of this housing. There appears to be a some kind of cooler or heat interchanger. Check around that. If there is a spray coming up from a leak, this would be the area I'd be looking at. Get some carb cleaner (two cans if needed) and get the entire area clean. A friend has an older Miata that was improperly stored for at least three years. Most of the time, it was not garaged. The gas is old, the battery is dead, it has not been started. It was probably parked without an oil change. He is looking to do the minimum to get this sellable, so the primary concern is the initial startup and the brakes. What would be recommended , especially regarding that first engine startup?

I’ve asked a few mechanics and DIYers this question and so far no consensus. Let’s say you’re 1000 miles away from next SCHEDULED oil change, and you’re about to leave on a 2000 mile road trip. Would you choose to change your oil 1000 miles early before the trip, or 1000 miles late after the trip?
