With the current A4 Avant having served Mrs89 well as a great allrounder... mechanically she's been without fault and has proved her worth. Exterior wise, she has suffered and looks great from 10 feet away but there's a complaint on every panel... the nail in the coffin was a side swipe from an errant deer (it didn't end well for the deer) the time has come to say farewell....Wanting something bigger as her car is the family wagon as we all can't fit in the S5...This arrives Saturday morningit's a 2010, 3.0TDi, so the substantially cheaper tax bracket...needs tyres (ordered a set of Nankangs)o

I need to both jobs on my Bork Factor 9 Dadmobilethe steering wheel was a little bit of TFR and a toothbrush to get into the perforated leather bits, but i did go all over the whole wheel, just do a section at a time, dry with a clean microfibre. Then a liberal wiping with DrLeather wipes and then dry with another clean microfibre until dry, i did this twice as the wipes were still pulling dirt out. Follow the manufacturers instructions on these. Then just leave it to fully air dry. It results in a perfect, as factory fresh matt finish... with constant use the oil and grease from your hands will make the wheel shiny again. I clean my leather wheels regularly with the DrLeather wipes. The drying with the microfibres will pull a lot of the dirt out, the wetting part loosens the dirt, if that makes sense? when drying always use a new part of the microfibre, to save working the previously removed crud. The black trim was nothing more than Farcela G3 cutting compound, yet another clean microfibre and apply like you would if you were removing swirl marks from your paint. With yet another clean microfibre buff off. Then apply a finishing wax of your choice. If you have small enough applicator pads you can machine polish.Edited by 89forever on Saturday 18th April 15:09

Almost my entire car history, three trip reports from Euro road trips and and a tale of love and heartbreak featuring a black R8 can be found in this previous thread:https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...Then we bought a black Porsche Cayman 981 GTS and did another Euro trip:https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...But...I got bored and started idly searching for alternatives. I've gone into details in that thread; the Porsche was lovely but just not putting the sauce on my chips. So once again in order of importance, must haves were: Not another furking black car

Friday and the first time I'm out for a drive by myself. BBB was hanging with the famalam in Hereford and then meeting me at the narrow boats down in Llangattock, so I was exploring South Wales via all the two lane B roads I could find. I hope you're ready for some Audi Porsche Aston on a mountain moor pictures! https://maps.app.goo.gl/FxSVcrKpmJVQ5G4v9?g_st=acFrom Hereford I went via the B4352 which was nice and twisty with no traffic. I was building speed, warming tyres and trying to get used to the car. 3rd gear was the one and I was loving the oodles of torque compared to the Porsche. And
